Eww at the thought of touching Yangtze water. It's more of a miracle that he lived through that, it surely is the foulest river on the planet.

"the vampire fish, a parasite with a vicious tactic. It is attracted by the scent of urine and enters the body by swimming up the penis."

Okay little disapointed cause I was expecting a video lol but the best part about the article was that he gets hit on by girls for that.

Holy fking shit. He swam through dirty waters of bull sharks, piranhas, andacondas, candiru (which sound absolutely HORRIBLE), stingrays, (child eating) 15 foot catfish, crocodiles/alligators, with tarantulas, giant millipedes, and scorpions falling from trees, had parasites, pirates and native tribes on the land, during storms and heat.
Words cannot explain the amazingness of this. Seriously, I don't know what to say. Dude is a fking battle lion.

I'm sort of grateful there isn't a video. I bet you that guy looks like a goddamn horrorshow after that.

I was thinking more about this last night, and doing the math behind it.
The Amazon is roughly 3200 miles long, and he swam it in 66 days, for 10 hours/day. Let's round that off to 3300 miles and he's swimming a swift 5 mph.
He would have to keep up near world record freestyle pace to finish in 660 hours.
Obviously, the river's current plays a huge role in pushing him down the river. I'm not taking anything away from him by bringing this up - swimming the entire Amazon (against the current or with it) is by far the bravest thing I've ever heard of.
I just thought his "speed" was rather alarming.
